Entertaining audiences for over 30 years, singer / songwriter Russell continues to offer a blend of music that includes contemporary folk with a blend of acoustic rock. With diversity in each concert, with his band or solo, Russell performs original tunes along with music of local singer/songwriters and features the songs/music of John Denver and Dan Fogelberg.
Music opens the minds and the hearts of the listener. Making music is a treat but having the music become a part of the audience is a triumph. Returning to the performance side of music has opened a new door to new possibilities along with still having a “great musical experience”. Performing is my preference, to be with and a part of the audience when sharing the music experience. For a long time I was just a passionate player, I would learn the notes and could mimic the artist style, then get on stage and have a great time. Now I have an interest in more than just one style of music, while working on my own technique.
Russell grew up in Rockford, Minnesota and was the ninth of 14 brothers and sisters. He recorded his first album in 1977 and his second in 1981. During this period of time he toured extensively, performing concerts at colleges, fairs and youth events across the United States. In 2001 Russell released the single “Rise Up” and has nearly completed the mixing and mastering of his new CD "DREAMLAND" that will be released in...20....

Involvement in the music experience is a chance to cut through barriers that would normally keep people from different walks of life apart. Russell uses music as a bridge to better explore the awareness of the environment around us. To reach out and create an understanding and give attention to the needs of our community by “real” possible financial and other savings brought about by using alternative energy, environmentally friendly cleaning solutions, green building materials and home design, and organic food products through music.
The Continuation of a message. Every decade or so, an extraordinary musician who truly embodies the wholesome spirit of America captures the heart of the country and the world. Singer/songwriter John Denver was, without a doubt, one of these rare individuals and because of his dedication to both the earth and our environment; Russell has integrated John’s music into his upcoming performances along with original music and music from artists, Dan Fogelberg, Jame Taylor and others.
